Back into the studio today, on ‘the day job’, after a weekend at Coast Guard. I must be attracted to working long hours, because those 14-hour days back-to-back make me realize that it’s not just filming or audio post-production that always involves a sizeable commitment of time.
One of the ways that my colleague Jason Nicholas and I choose to promote our services as a ‘work-for-hire’ dialogue editing team, is by writing, presenting and producing a podcast called ‘The Apple and Biscuit Show’ (and bonus marks for anyone adding in the comments the significance of the name – excluding our contributors!)
We all know that in some way, shape or form, we have to embrace that dreaded notion of marketing and promotion, so why not make it a pleasure rather than a chore? Anyway, that’s what Jason and I decided to do as we looked at our options; and we’ve come to absolutely love the research and recording process for the show, and the feedback we get from listeners. Plus, it gives us the opportunity to legitimately ask some of the best in the business the kinds of questions we wouldn’t otherwise get to ask… A definite ‘win-win’ scenario!
