In 2013 I was fortunate to be selected for a new initiative from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), called BAFTA Crew; a year-long hot-housing programme for emerging British talent. It was pivotal in providing me with access to some of the industry’s greats, and it established a supportive cohort that continues to this day.
It was a lifeline for me at the time, especially as my studios were located a long way outside of the recognized film capital of London; and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity that was provided by the scheme.
This year, I was thrilled to be accepted as a full voting member of BAFTA.
I learned so much from my time as a BAFTA Crew member and I put on personal and professional growth quickly, thanks to the quality of the coaching I received.
I’m now committed to sharing what I’ve learned with the present and next generation of filmmakers.
